Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating Process Management: Oversee all aspects of the estimating process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of bids.
- Pre-Bid & Pre-Construction Participation: Attend pre-bid job walks, walk-throughs, and pre-construction meetings as required.
- Estimate Review & Optimization: Review and optimize estimates to align with company objectives and present strategies to the executive team.
- Collaboration with Project Management: Work closely with project management to develop estimates that match our construction capabilities.
- Vendor & Quote Management: Request and review quotes for accuracy to secure the best value for the company.
- Bid Execution: Accurately manage and execute all assigned bids, ensuring deadlines are met from concept through to handoff to the construction department.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify new opportunities and concepts that add value to our department and align with our core values.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating commercial electrical projects within the Austin/Centex market.
- Licensing: Holds a valid TDLR journeyman electrician license or higher.
- Track Record: Proven success in estimating projects valued at $5M+.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in EBM, Accubid, MS Office, Bluebeam, Sage, and Microsoft Teams.
- Communication & Time Management: Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in on-screen takeoff, with solid document management and technical abilities.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships.
- Sales Insight: Capable of identifying sales opportunities and presenting them to the team.
- Bid Preparation: Skilled in preparing accurate bids based on drawings, RFI responses, and scope clarifications.
