The Job

We are seeking to hire an experienced professional lead developer/appointment setter to call on governmental program managers, contracting officers, and end-users to introduce our client’s products/ services and set up appointments. The company is a government relations business development firm that specializes in helping small businesses source, target, and secure governmental contacts.

This position will be our “go-to expert” on all outbound prospecting campaigns and must be a fearless outbound cold caller yet, must be able to deliver a strong eloquent value proposition by phone and understand how to qualify the agencies (prospects) needs, assess agency's issues/pain points.


Position Responsibilities and Duties

● Initiate prospecting and lead generation activities through outbound calling to state and federal program managers, stakeholders, and end-users.

● Averaging 50 to 60 dials a day to governmental program managers, contracting officers, and end-users and schedule qualified appointments.

● Special Campaigns may require calling on C-Level, VP Level and/or Director Level contacts at small and mid-tier companies.

● Successfully navigate a possible gatekeeper to reach the agency’s appropriate decision-maker.

● Conduct in-depth research calls to agency purchasing representatives to uncover opportunities across various stages of the governmental procurement acquisition process.

● Conduct prospecting to agency contacts in order to develop an understanding of their purchasing needs in relation to our client’s products or services. This includes business needs, infrastructure, org chart, & other relevant information.

● Will be required to request and review the agency’s purchasing information to target future agency contacts.

● Your daily time allocation will be approximately 70% calling on agencies, 15% performing and reviewing agency data, 10% client and opportunities meetings and recaps, and 5% misc.

● Will be required to send follow-up calls and emails to agency contacts as needed.

● May be required to write up opportunities, confirm meetings, and send invites.

● Weekly video sales meetings will be required and may require the candidate to present prospecting activity.


Qualifications & Skills

● Minimum of 3 years of experience in outbound calling to any of the following: governmental contracting personnel, program managers, end-users or corporate C-Level, VP Level, and/or Director level contacts at mid-tier companies, large companies, and Fortune 500 companies.

● The person for this position must be a conversationalist.

● Applicants must possess at least an associate degree from an accredited educational institution. Military experience and documented corporate industry experience can be used as a substitute for formal degrees.

● Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. All conversations will be annotated into our Vanillasoft CRM.

● Candidates for this position must not have any call reluctance and enjoy having conversations with governmental organizations or business owners.

● Self-starter able to work independently but also be a contributing member of the company.

● Be flexible – Calling campaigns can and often do change from month-to-month or week-to-week without notice.

● This position requires three weeks of formal training to be performed at one of our Co-working office locations in either Denver, Broomfield or Erie Colorado. After the training period, flexible off-site working will be permitted.

● Value Add Experience – Extra consideration will be given to the following experience:

● Knowledge of federal and state small business certifications such as women, minority, veteran, and 8a certification is a plus. – (not required - will train the right candidate)


Compensation & Culture

● W2 position

● After three weeks of training this will become a hybrid position.

● This position is currently part time and is expected to grow into a full-time position in 3 to 6 months.

● Calling Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm MST.

● Compensation rate: $18.29/hr-$25.00/hr (to be determined based on experience)

● Commission: To be determined
