About Evolved Lighting & Energy

Evolved Lighting & Energy is a growing electrical contractor specializing in HVAC controls, lighting, and energy solutions for commercial and industrial facilities throughout Ohio and the Midwest.

We're growing our Controls Team and looking for an experienced installer who knows HVAC controls, takes pride in quality work, and is ready to take ownership in the field.

Our Core Values

Quality – Always comes first. Efficiency is a result.

Inner Fire – Passion and motivation is notable in everything we do.

Collaboration – Our success is only possible through working together as a team.

Versatility – Willingness and ability to take on new challenges and deliver results.

Positive Charge – Creating positive energy in our workplace and for our customers.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Controls Electrician who understands how HVAC control and Building Automation Systems (BAS) come together in the field.

You'll work on controls for RTUs, VAVs, AHUs, CUHs, exhaust fans, boilers, pumps, VFDs, and other commercial HVAC equipment — taking installations from rough-in through final termination and commissioning support.

We want someone who can work independently, understand the system they're installing, troubleshoot problems, and lead a small crew when assigned under our Controls Foreman.

This is primarily an installation role. BAS programming and engineering are not primary responsibilities, although experience with BAS software, networking, and commissioning is a plus.

What You'll Do

  • Install HVAC controls and BAS systems from rough-in through final termination
  • Install controllers, thermostats, sensors, actuators, valves, relays, control panels, and other field devices
  • Run conduit and J-hooks, pull control/communication wire, and perform clean, accurate terminations
  • Install BACnet MS/TP and Ethernet/CAT6 networks, including CAT6 and RJ45 terminations
  • Read controls plans, submittals, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Assemble and wire control panels
  • Perform point-to-point checks, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors, controls vendors, electricians, and other trades
  • Lead a small group of technicians or electricians on assigned controls work when needed

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on HVAC controls/BAS installation experience
  • Able to independently take controls work from plans and submittals into a finished field installation
  • Strong controls wiring, conduit, device installation, and termination skills
  • Working knowledge of BAS communication networks and commercial HVAC equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working independently and providing direction to others when assigned
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Experience with BACnet, CAT6/RJ45, control panel assembly, VFDs, boilers, pumps, RTUs, VAVs, AHUs, commissioning, or HVAC service is a plus.

Schedule & Travel

Full-time, typically 40–45 hours per week. This is a field-based position with travel primarily throughout Ohio and occasional overnight/regional travel. Overtime, early starts, or night work may be required based on project needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30–$45 per hour, based on controls experience and skill level
  • 2 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 9 Paid Holidays
  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Simple IRA with up to 3% company match
  • Shift and travel pay differentials when applicable
  • Paid travel, lodging, mileage, and per diem when applicable
  • Mid-year and year-end performance bonus opportunities
  • Company profit sharing eligibility after one year

Grow With Our Controls Team

We're looking for more than someone to pull wire. We want an experienced controls installer who can become a key part of our growing Controls Team.

For the right person, this position offers a path into increased field leadership:

Commercial Controls Electrician → Controls Crew Lead → Controls Foreman

If you know HVAC controls, take pride in clean installations, and want an opportunity to build, lead, and grow, we'd like to talk with you.
