Great Falls Construction is looking for experienced Carpenters to be part of our growing team and contribute to the success of both residential and commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wood and other material structures, fixtures, and frameworks. What you will be doing:
- Follow all safety rules and Federal, State, local, and client regulations as well as implement company safety program to maintain a safe environment.
- Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or plans to prepare project layout to determine dimensions and materials required.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using relevant tools.
- Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware.
- Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level.
- Install, replace, and repair wall boards, sheet rock, weather stripping, base boards, insulation, waterproofing materials, and suspended ceilings.
- Install roof shingles, decking, facia boards, flashing and roof paper.
- Build or repair cabinets, doors, windows, framework, floors, and other structures and fixtures.
- Fits and installs windows, door frames and slabs, door hardware, interior and exterior trim.
- Installs foundations, floors, walls, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal concrete, plastics, and composite materials.
- Operate a variety of small and large power tools, motorized equipment, and basic construction hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Interact and communicate with management, subcontractors, and other crew members in a professional manner.
What you will need to succeed:
- Four or more years of Carpentry experience.
- Have a bias toward action and an impatience towards those that lack focus and/or the ability to get results.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
- Access to personally owned tools.
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance devices (dollies, hand trucks, additional persons).
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction industry.
