Warehouse & Construction Driver
LMS Mid-Atlantic is a growing commercial specialty contractor focused on drywall, metal framing, and wall and ceiling installations. We are seeking experienced construction leaders who want to help build strong field operations, shape processes, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Position Overview
The Warehouse & Construction Driver plays a critical role in supporting field operations by delivering construction materials, tools, and equipment to jobsites, maintaining warehouse organization, and ensuring accurate tracking of company assets. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, vendors, and field crews to help keep projects operating efficiently and safely.
Warehouse & Construction Driver typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Drive company vehicles to deliver materials, tools, and equipment to construction jobsites
- Pick up materials, supplies, and equipment from vendors, suppliers, and rental companies
- Load, unload, transport, and safely secure construction materials and equipment
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse environment
- Receive, inspect, count, organize, and store incoming materials and equipment
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for jobsite deliveries and project mobilizations
- Track company tools and equipment using ToolWatch or similar inventory management software
- Check tools and equipment in and out of the warehouse and update inventory records accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of equipment assigned to employees, crews, vehicles, and jobsites
- Update equipment records for transfers, returns, repairs, damaged equipment, and lost items
- Assist with inventory counts and help identify missing, damaged, or underutilized equipment
- Maintain delivery tickets, receipts, inventory records, and other required documentation
- Pick up and return rental equipment and coordinate equipment movement between jobsites
- Assist field crews with material deliveries and construction support activities
- Support project mobilization and demobilization efforts
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition
- Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, traffic regulations, and jobsite safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, warehouse personnel, vendors, and field crews
- Perform additional warehouse, delivery, logistics, and construction support duties as assigned
Experience/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required
- DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Health Card) required or ability to obtain if necessary
- Previous warehouse, material handling, logistics, or construction experience preferred
- Commercial delivery or construction driving experience preferred
- Forklift certification or experience preferred
- Experience handling construction materials, tools, and equipment preferred
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- Experience with ToolWatch or similar inventory tracking software preferred
- Experience using construction management, inventory, or timekeeping software preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to safely load, unload, move, and transport construction materials and equipment
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory, delivery, and equipment tracking records
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities throughout the day
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic software applications for documentation and communication
- Ability to build positive working relationships with field personnel, vendors, and project teams
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions
