POSITION SUMMARY: Massaro Construction Group is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide responsive, hands-on technology support for employees in the corporate office, remote environments, and active project sites. The role resolves day-to-day hardware, software, account, connectivity, and application issues while supporting secure, reliable technology operations.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Desktop & User Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for IT requests; diagnose and resolve common Tier 1 issues involving Windows, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, printers, mobile devices, conference-room technology, VPN, connectivity, and network access. Maintain clear communication through resolution or escalation.
- Perform employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding, including accounts, permissions, licensing, device preparation, software installation, equipment deployment, and secure asset recovery.
Systems & Endpoint Administration
- Provision, configure, maintain, replace, and retire company computers, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and related end-user technology; maintain accurate hardware, software, licensing, and assignment records.
- Perform routine Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace administration and assist with endpoint enrollment, application deployment, updates, security settings, MFA, authentication, and remote support.
Construction Technology & Jobsite Support
- Provide first-line support for Massaro applications including Procore, Sage 300 CRE/Sage Intacct, TimberScan, Autodesk, Adobe, Primavera P6, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, and other approved platforms.
- Support project-office and jobsite technology, including internet/Wi-Fi, devices, printers, displays, file access, and new-site setup. Travel to local jobsites when needed and provide practical user guidance or basic training.
Infrastructure, Security & Operations
- Troubleshoot basic LAN/Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, switches, and access points; support office AV, shared printers/scanners, outages, upgrades, device refreshes, and scheduled IT projects.
- Reinforce cybersecurity practices including MFA, access controls, endpoint protection, phishing awareness, secure device/data handling, and prompt incident escalation; document recurring issues and recommend practical improvements.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain useful ticket notes, troubleshooting procedures, user guides, knowledge-based articles, equipment standards, inventory records, and jobsite technology documentation.
- Identify recurring support problems and recommend practical process, automation, training, or standardization improvements that reduce support demand and improve the user experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required
- Education / Experience: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent education/certifications; approximately 1–3 years of IT support, desktop support, help desk, or field-support experience.
- Technical Foundation: Working knowledge of Windows 11, computer hardware, printers/peripherals, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, user accounts, licensing, permissions, MFA, and common endpoint-management tasks.
- Networking & Troubleshooting: Working understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic switch/router troubleshooting; able to diagnose unfamiliar issues, document findings, escalate appropriately, and follow through to resolution.
- Communication & Organization: Strong customer-service, verbal, and written communication skills; able to explain technical information clearly, prioritize multiple requests, and manage interruptions.
- Mobility / Physical Requirements: Ability to travel locally to Massaro offices and project sites and to lift, move, install, or relocate typical IT equipment.
Preferred
- Construction / Field Technology: Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, field operations, manufacturing, or another project-based environment; familiarity with Massaro's construction applications is a plus.
- Endpoint Administration: Experience with Active Directory, device enrollment, software deployment, endpoint security, or similar endpoint-management tools.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, or similar industry certifications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily on-site at our O'Hara Township office while also supporting employees in other Massaro offices (Erie/State College) and project locations throughout the greater Pittsburgh region. Local jobsite travel is expected, with occasional after-hours support for urgent issues, planned upgrades, or project-site setup.
