Job Description
The Pipefitter will assemble, install, and maintain piping systems for mechanical and HVAC applications in federal, commercial, and industrial facilities. The role requires strong technical ability, welding experience, and a solid understanding of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with HVAC technicians and project managers to ensure systems are installed efficiently and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Basic Skills & Knowledge
- Assemble and install piping systems with precise alignment and secure fittings.
- Perform stick welding on carbon steel, stainless, or other materials as required.
- Cut, thread, and connect screw pipe and Victaulic pipe fittings.
- Collaborate with HVAC and mechanical teams to integrate piping systems into equipment layouts.
- Conduct inspections and perform maintenance on existing piping systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues related to piping installations.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to follow company and OSHA safety standards at all times.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a Pipefitter in mechanical, HVAC, or industrial environments.
- Skilled in stick welding (certifications preferred).
- Experience with screw and Victaulic piping systems required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on fast-paced projects.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
- OSHA 10 or higher certification preferred.
