Description:

Perimeter Security Partners (PSP) is seeking to hire CAD Designer to join our rapidly growing team. This position will work with PSP Project Engineers to develop and draft civil site plans, electrical site plans, civil and mechanical detail drawings, assembly/ shop drawings for PSP manufactured products, detailed construction submittal drawings, and as-built record drawings.


The successful candidate will be prepared to make routine design decisions, independently apply technical references and design standards, and participate in peer reviews of design submittals and possess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. The CAD Designer must have advanced proficiency using AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor.


The CAD Designer reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

 

Duties:

The CAD Designer will receive design input from PSP Project Engineers and Design Managers and apply standards and templates to complete detailed construction plans, shop drawings, and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and other similar software.

 

The CAD Designer’s duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

·       Independently apply design standards, technical references, and templates during the production of new drawings.

·       Develop construction drawings for a wide range of clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Air Force, municipal governments, and Fortune 500 companies.

·       Work with Project Managers to develop construction submittals.

·       Prepare manufacturing drawings.

·       Complete as-built drawings based on field produced red-lines.

·       Participate in R&D efforts for new PSP products.

 

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

·       High School Diploma is required.

·       Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software is required.

·       Post-secondary school training in drafting (2-year technical certificate or a degree from an accredited institution is preferred).

·       Experience with drafting construction site plans or civil/ site work details is preferred.

·       Must be able to work independently on an assigned task and be able to collaborate with a team during design and review phases.

·       3 or more years of experience in a professional work environment is required.

·       3 or more years of experience with AutoCAD is required.

·       Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications is required.

·       Proficiency with MicroStation PowerDraft is preferred.

·       Proficiency with Inventor is preferred.

·       Proficiency with SolidWorks is preferred.

·       Must be able to successfully complete standard pre-employment requirements including a background check, drug screen, and reference checks.

·       Position requires in-person work at PSP’s headquarters in Brentwood, TN.

 

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to sit at a computer workstation for several hours at a time

  

Benefits:

·       Salary (or equivalent hourly rate) Range of $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience
