Perimeter Security Partners (“PSP”) is seeking a versatile, hands-on CCTV / VMS Field Systems Maintainer to handle end-to-end deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of enterprise Video Management Systems (VMS) and IP video infrastructure across critical government and commercial sites nationwide. Successful candidates will have the ability to conduct site assessments, design IP network topologies, configure recording servers, and program enterprise VMS software. Duties include mounting cameras, pulling cable, configuring and installing servers, and handling all aspects of physical field installation. Work includes installation and maintenance of projects from the initial site survey through physical installation, network routing, software commissioning, and client handover.

PSP has a robust service and maintenance team with seasoned lead technicians available to assist in troubleshooting and support with the goal of minimizing client system downtime by providing quality technical support and customer service in a timely manner. The Field Systems Maintainer will report to the ESS Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities

· Site Assessments & Design: Conduct comprehensive client site surveys to evaluate network capacity, camera placement, physical constraints, and server room requirements to design complete VMS solutions.

· Physical Installation & Fieldwork: Perform complete hands-on field deployment, including mounting/aiming IP cameras, running and terminating network cabling, racking server hardware, and installing field switches/power supplies.

· Server & Hardware Integration: Build, configure, and upgrade enterprise recording servers, NVRs, NAS/SAN storage arrays, client workstations, and physical rack infrastructure.

· IP Networking & Routing: Set up and troubleshoot IP video networks, including subnetting, VLAN creation, Layer 2/3 switch configuration, unicast/multicast routing, and bandwidth optimization.

· VMS Programming & Commissioning: Install, configure, and program enterprise VMS platforms (e.g., Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon Unity, Hanwha Wave, or equivalent), including motion rules, analytics, and access control integrations.

· Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform advanced diagnostic, preventative, and corrective maintenance on live enterprise video systems and network components.

· Documentation & Client Handover: Generate detailed technical documentation, including daily reports, IP address schemes, site assessment reports, and as-built schematics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Hands-On Field Capability: Experience with physical low-voltage installation, camera mounting, cable termination (RJ45/fiber basics), and equipment rack integration.

· Enterprise VMS Experience: Solid working knowledge and programming experience with at least one major enterprise VMS platform (Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, Hanwha, etc.).

· IP Networking Proficiency: Strong, practical understanding of IP network topologies, subnets, VLANs, static/dynamic routing, and network troubleshooting.

· Server & Storage Familiarity: Hands-on experience configuring Windows or Linux Server environments, RAID setups, and enterprise hardware deployment.

· Site Survey Capability: Ability to inspect a site, assess existing infrastructure, and build material/equipment lists for system upgrades.

· Travel & Federal Readiness: Willingness to travel weekly nationwide (up to 100%), pass federal background/drug screenings, hold a valid REAL ID Driver's License, and work independently on site.

Preferred Qualifications

· Certifications: Vendor VMS certifications (Milestone, Genetec, Hanwha, etc.) or networking credentials (CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA).

· Equipment & Site Operations: Experience operating lifts (manlifts/forklifts) or working in industrial, military, or government high-security environments.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to arrive on time, every time to all jobsites.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level.

· Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather for extended hours.

· Ability to travel by air or for up to 8 hours by car.

Additional Information:

· Weekly travel to work sites throughout the United States, generally departing on Monday and returning on Friday.

· Opportunities for overtime are frequently available.

· Employee will be provided with a company credit card for approved expenses.

· A fixed per diem to cover meals and other incidental expenses will also be provided.

· Hands-on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of security equipment.

· Highly Desired Skills for this position include: Electrical certifications/ Licensing, Heavy Equipment Operation (forklift, lull, man lift), and/or Welding.

Benefits:

· Full Time / Hourly ($30 - $36/hr, depending on experience)

· Work performed on Federal job sites is subject to the Service Contract Act requirements and may pay higher wage based on location.
