Perimeter Security Partners is looking to fill a temporary role for a motivated Skilled Concrete Finisher located in the Columbus, Georgia area with strong construction experience. They will be expected to finish concrete surfaces to specific textures and smoothness, applying curing and sealing compounds, clean and maintain tools and equipment. They should be experienced with pouring materials in and over designated areas. Work is performed outdoors in support of a governmental military client in the Columbus, GA area. This temporary role should provide full time work in Columbus, GA into the Spring of 2025. Additionally, there is an opportunity to transition at that time (or earlier) into a permanent position for a qualified candidate who is willing to travel.

The Skilled Concrete Finisher will work under the direction of a Superintendent or Foreman who will provide a daily work plan, deliver safety briefs, and provide on-the-job training to expand the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

Duties:

·       Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using a variety of power and finishing tools.

·       Align forms for flat work, curbs, or gutters.

·       Create concrete forms and tying reinforcing rebar.

·       Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.

·       General labor work

·       Must be able to safely accomplish construction trade work in outdoor conditions in accordance with a daily work plan.

·       Work cooperatively with Construction Specialists to accomplish the daily work plan.

·       Maintain all safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

·       Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and vehicles before use to ensure safety and proper operation through the use of established checklists.

·       Clean and maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company policy.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

·       Minimum two years of experience with various types of concrete finishing techniques

·       High School Diploma or equivalent

·       Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

·       Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to permit access to military installations and similar controlled areas.

·       Experience in operating hand and powered equipment is preferred.

·       Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

 Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

·       Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and have full use of hands, fingers, and arms.

·       Must be able to work outdoors for up to 60 hours / week in a variety of weather conditions

·       Excellent Hand-Eye Coordination and attention to detail
