Description

Perimeter Security Partners is looking for a motivated traveling Associate Field Electrician with electrical experience or demonstrated aptitude to install distribution panels, disconnects, conduit, and wire; to terminate electrical and signal wire; and to test systems for new equipment installations at access control points (ACPs) throughout the United States. While the primary purpose of this role is new installations (construction), the position also supports repair activities on existing access control point (ACP) equipment throughout the United States.

 

The Associate Field Electrician will assist the Field Electrician by executing a range of electrical trade work, to include all tasks required to construct new pathways, pull and terminate new wiring, and starting up and testing electronically controlled devices.  The ideal candidate will have some experience with electrical systems, electronic/ low voltage controls, electro-mechanical drive systems, and/ or hydraulic drive systems.

 

Duties:

·       The Associate Field Electrician must be able to execute assigned tasks independently with little supervision once the task is understood and assigned, and to be a positive representative for Perimeter Security Partners with Clients.

·       Install PVC, EMT, and RGS conduit pathways – both in trenches and above ground within buildings.

·       Pull and terminate power and control wiring under the instruction of a Field Electrician.

·       Assist the Field Electrician with the start up and testing of electronic systems by safely operating the system, observing results, and adjusting the equipment as appropriate.

·       Read, understand, and perform work in accordance with job specific safety and quality control plans.

·       Safely use a range of powered and manual hand tools to perform assigned tasks.

·       Complete training and safely operate a shooting boom forklift, skid steer, and other heavy equipment in support of assigned tasks.

·       Assist the Field Electrician with the documentation of work performed.

·       Safely drive assigned company vehicles to and from job sites and coordinate maintenance of that vehicle.

 

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

·       Experience with basic electrical work required, to include conduit installation and wiring is required.

·       Experience working on a construction site is highly desired.

·       Experience operating a forklift highly desired.

·       Demonstrated ability to bend and install conduit highly desired.

·       Ability to read schematics and single-line drawings highly desired.

·       Must possess a valid driver’s license.

·       Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

·       Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to permit access to military installations and similar controlled areas

  

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

 

Additional Information:

·       85% or more travel, typically for two (2) to three (3) weeks at a time to project sites across the United States.

·       Employee will be given a company credit card for approved expenses (e.g. hotel, fuel, tools, and materials). A fixed per diem to subsidize meals and incidental expenses will also be provided

·       Hands-on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of security equipment.

 

Benefits:

·       Full Time / Hourly Pay ($25 - $30 per hour based on experience, plus per diem and ample overtime opportunities throughout the year).

·       80% of work performed on Federal job sites that may pay higher wage based on location.
