Description

Perimeter Security Partners is looking for a motivated and professional traveling Construction Foreman with strong construction trade experience to install active vehicle barriers (AVB), security fencing, personnel gates, bollards, underground electrical distribution (conduit pathways), concrete equipment/ parking pads, and passive vehicle barrier (PVB) equipment at access control points (ACPs) throughout the United States. Project sites will include military installations, federal government facilities, industrial sites, data centers, major sporting and event venues, and other commercial facilities.

 

The ideal Construction Foreman candidate is capable of managing the physical construction of AVB, PVB, fence, and related ACP equipment at a project site with support from a remote Project Manager. They should have advanced proficiency with excavation; reinforced concrete placement; chain link, palisade, and welded-wire fence installation; trenching and conduit installation; the ability to safely operate a mini-excavator, forklift, and skid steer; demonstrated capability to direct the efforts of 2 – 4 crew members; and the capacity to procure materials, rent equipment, track labor hours, and complete daily reports. The position requires someone with an outstanding work ethic, a commitment to managing a safe work environment for their team, good interpersonal and supervisory skills, and the ability to plan and execute quality work.

 

Duties:

The Construction Foreman must be able to work independently with little supervision and remote support, and to be a positive representative to clients for Perimeter Security Partners.

 

  • Coordinate closely with PSP’s General Superintendent, PSP Project Managers, Client site representatives and other personnel to safely conduct assigned work while minimizing operational impacts.

 

  • Oversee work plans and team activities to ensure compliance with applicable design and contract documents, safety criteria, and company policy.

 

  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure safe work practices. Report safety incidents/ accidents.

 

  • Read and interpret construction specifications, drawings, and other documents to verify requirements, identify work areas, lay out equipment and material, and execute required tasks.

 

  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations for equipment foundations, posts, and other structures, using best practices to protect and avoid existing utilities, structures, vegetation, and other obstructions.

 

  • Clearly communicate with Project Managers, Client representatives, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate work and verify satisfactory completion of all requirements.

 

  • Train and monitor workers in construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.

 

  • Develop material / equipment lists and workload estimates for new installations and to correct deficiencies.

 

  • Provide daily reports on equipment condition, work performed, and upcoming plans.

 

  • Draft and organize daily electronic documentation following each installation or repair visit, including compiling receipts and processing expenses, obtaining Client approval signature(s) on punchlist items, updating as-built drawings, and preparing other close-out documents.

 

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:

  •  Minimum of three years of experience as a construction supervisor/ foreman, superintendent, and / or quality control manager is required.


  • Minimum of five years of experience with excavation, the placement of reinforced concrete, and/ or the installation of industrial fencing.


  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and installation details.


  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.


  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.


  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to permit access to military installations and similar controlled areas.


  • Highly desire expertise and knowledge in operating heavy equipment (mini-excavator, backhoe, front end loader, skid steer, forklift, lull, man lift, etc).

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.


  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and have full use of hands, fingers, and arms.

 

Additional Information:

  • Recurring travel for two (2) to three (3) weeks at a time on new installation / construction projects at locations throughout the US. (90% travel)


  • Employee will be given a company credit card for approved expenses (e.g. hotel, fuel, tools, and materials). A fixed per diem to cover meals and incidental expenses will also be provided.


  • Hands-on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of physical security infrastructure equipment.

 

Benefits:

  • Full Time / Hourly Pay ($90,000 - $100,000 annually based on experience, plus per diem)
