About Kaempf & Harris
Kaempf & Harris, part of the R.W. Warner family of companies, is a sheet metal and mechanical contractor based in Frederick, Maryland, serving commercial and industrial clients across the Mid-Atlantic. We fabricate, finish, and install sheet metal for mission-critical projects, guided by three values: Quality. Loyalty. Integrity. Position Summary
We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to run our Frederick warehouse so that the right material reaches the right jobsite, complete and on time. The Warehouse Manager will oversee receiving, storage, inventory, and truck loading for sheet metal coils, flat stock, and fabricated parts, and keep field supervisors informed the moment materials arrive.
The ideal candidate is someone exceptionally detail-oriented who can manage several parts of the operation at once, cares deeply about doing the job right, and shows up every day. Reliable daily attendance is essential: our field crews depend on this role.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse operations
- Oversee daily warehouse operations and set, monitor, and report on operational goals.
- Develop warehouse systems for product handling and storage, equipment use, inventory, and shipping methods.
- Keep the warehouse organized so materials can be located and pulled quickly.
Inventory control
- Track sheet metal coils, flat sheets, fabricated parts, and project materials.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Flag low stock and support purchasing with accurate, timely counts.
Shipping and receiving
- Inspect incoming shipments for quantity, damage, and accuracy against purchase orders.
- Notify management and field supervision as soon as materials arrive, using a company-provided phone and iPad.
- Stage and load outgoing orders, verifying every item is on the truck before it leaves. Missed items mean extra trips, lost time, and added cost.
Equipment operation
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move heavy metal bundles safely.
- Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
Safety and compliance
- Maintain a safe, healthy workplace by setting and enforcing procedures that meet OSHA requirements.
- Enforce proper PPE use and keep the facility clean and in good repair.
- Report incidents and near misses and help correct hazards promptly.

- Comfortable using a smartphone, iPad, email, and basic inventory software.

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Background in HVAC, mechanical, or construction contracting.
