HVAC Estimator / Project Manager

Albany, GA • Full-Time • $70,000–$130,000 + Performance Bonus

SafeAire Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is a residential and commercial mechanical contractor that has served Southwest Georgia since 1964. We're looking for an Estimator / Project Manager to own commercial HVAC projects from the first set of drawings through final closeout.

On the front end, you'll turn plans and specs into accurate, competitive bids. Once the work is won, you'll carry your estimate into the field — managing the budget, scope, and schedule, while a site superintendent directs the crew day to day.

What You'll Do

• Analyze plans, specs, and bid documents and perform HVAC quantity takeoffs with realistic labor and material budgets.

• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing; prepare clear bid summaries and partner with leadership on final pricing strategy.

• Set the field up for success at handoff with accurate scope, material lists, equipment selections, and a schedule.

• Track cost against the estimate, manage procurement and labor needs, and secure approval on change orders before labor is spent.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the owner, GC, and design team.

• Drive every job to a clean, profitable closeout.

What We're Looking For

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, sheet metal, hydronic piping, refrigeration, and controls, plus strong blueprint reading and spec interpretation.

• Solid grasp of construction scheduling, project cost management, and building/mechanical codes.

• Analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.

• Someone who understands labor productivity and efficient workflows to drive margin.

• Software experience (Procore, Sage Intacct, Field Materials, Microsoft Office) is a plus — we'll train the right person.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $70,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus tied to project profitability.
