Sasser Restoration is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Accountant II to join our Finance team!

This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take greater ownership of reconciliations, month-end close, job costing, financial reporting, and financial analysis. Because we operate in the restoration and construction industry, we're looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment where financial data directly connects to operational performance.

What You'll Do:

As our Accountant II, you'll work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to help maintain accurate financial information across the organization and provide meaningful financial insight through reporting and data analysis.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll-related entries, and other adjustments
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger account reconciliations
• Support monthly and year-end close processes
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
• Review project costs and ensure expenses are properly coded and allocated
• Support job costing and Work in Progress (WIP) reporting
• Research discrepancies involving labor, materials, subcontractors, and other project costs
• Assist with revenue recognition and project billing
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity as needed
• Research financial variances and unusual account activity
• Develop, maintain, and analyze reports and dashboards using Power BI
• Use Sage for accounting, financial reporting, and project-related financial activity
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records
• Work with Operations and Project Management teams to resolve accounting and job-costing questions
• Support accounting process improvements and internal controls
• Assist with audit, tax, and other financial reporting requests

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be considered:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience
• Hands-on Power BI experience required
• Hands-on Sage accounting software experience, preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to research discrepancies and solve problems independently
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments

Even Better If You Have:

• Experience in restoration, construction, or another project-based industry
• Job costing experience
• Work in Progress (WIP) accounting experience
• Revenue recognition experience
• Experience working closely with project managers or operational teams
