Description

As a highly motivated VDC Detailer, you will be a critical addition to our talented Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Department. This full-time position fills an immediate need and focuses on industrial and commercial VDC projects in northern Nevada. You will bridge the gap between complex plans and flawless execution by taking ownership of construction documents from start to finish with an intense focus on details.

Key Responsibilities

VDC Modeling & System Coordination:

  • Use Virtual Design Construction software (such as Stratus, Revit, SysQue, BIM 360, ACC, etc.) to electronically model and coordinate complex plumbing and piping systems on multiple projects.
  • Understand the process of coordinating systems seamlessly with other trades.
  • Apply plumbing and piping construction codes, principles, products, and installation methods within a virtual environment.

Project Execution & Documentation:

  • Read and understand construction plans, client standards, specifications, and other project-related documents to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Take complete ownership of construction plans from start to finish, maintaining a strict focus on detail.

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Effectively communicate project status and task progress with all team members.
  • Report safety, health, and quality issues promptly to management.
  • Comply with the company safety policy and perform all duties in accordance with standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the VDC department.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Construction Protocol Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction protocols with a proven ability to interpret complex construction documents.
  • Virtual Translation Skills: Extensive experience with plumbing and piping construction codes, principles, products, and installation methods, combined with the ability to understand how to apply those codes and practices in a virtual environment.
  • Adaptive Problem Solving: Ability to adapt to changing situations, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work collaboratively in a team environment, and get along with coworkers.
  • Detail-Oriented Focus: Unwavering attention to detail with the ability to precisely follow verbal and written instructions.

Requirements & Disclaimers:

  • Current UA Building Trade Journeyman’s card strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UPC, UMC, IBC codes.
  • 5+ years plumbing and piping field experience.
  • High School Graduate/College diploma preferred.
  • Previous Detailing/BIM Experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be proficient in Windows 10, Office 2013 or higher (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (approximately).
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Physical capacity to sit and stand throughout the day.
  • Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
  • A drug test will be required prior to employment.
  • This is a safety sensitive position due to the proprietary files, confidential projects, and other documents that will be shared.
