JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate customer account records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Post and reconcile incoming payments to customer accounts
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances
  • Communicate with customers and insurance carriers to resolve billing discrepancies
  • Prepare regular AR reports and aging summaries
  • Maintain accurate and organized account documentation
  • Collaborate with the collections and job file teams to resolve invoicing issues

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of accounts receivable or billing experience
  • Experience in restoration, construction, or insurance industry a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work in person 5 days per week. Available for occasional after-hours support as needed
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and able to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Primarily office-based work in a climate-controlled environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents
  • Repetitive motions including keyboarding and use of a mouse
  • Frequent talking and hearing for phone and in-person communication
  • Close visual acuity for reading documents and viewing computer screens
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and filing
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds (files, supplies, or equipment)
  • Ability to open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a step stool as needed
