Due to sustained growth and a strong backlog, we are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts and play a critical role in project selection, pricing strategy, and risk management.

Position Summary

The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading commercial construction estimating from early concept through final pricing. This is a senior, hands-on role that supports negotiated work, hard bids, and GMP projects. The position works closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and executable.

This role carries real ownership over budgets, assumptions, and bid strategy—and directly influences project profitability and execution outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

• Lead commercial construction estimates from concept through final bid

• Perform and oversee detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications

• Develop complete project budgets, cost models, and bid proposals

• Analyze plans and scopes to identify gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities

• Lead internal estimate reviews and pricing strategy discussions

• Prepare bid clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and risk narratives

• Support awarded projects with change order pricing and cost validation

• Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and field verification

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor bids

• Define and review subcontractor scopes of work

• Evaluate pricing, qualifications, and coverage gaps

• Support subcontractor selection and buyout strategy

Collaboration, Systems & Data

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations

• Maintain historical cost data and estimating benchmarks

• Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating tools effectively

• Support business development with conceptual and ROM estimates

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or related project leadership

• Strong experience with hard-bid, negotiated, and GMP project delivery

• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Solid understanding of commercial construction means and methods

• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
