Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanic

Tri-Star Construction is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment and/or Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic.

Pay: Competitive hourly wage (DOE – Depending on Experience)

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and/or heavy duty trucks
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, emissions, and other mechanical systems
  • Perform shop and field repairs to minimize equipment downtime
  • Weld and fabricate components as needed, if qualified
  • Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a heavy equipment or heavy truck diesel mechanic; experience with both is a plus but not required
  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
  • CDL is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing

The Job

This is a hands-on shop and field position. Field repairs at active construction jobsites are part of the job, and work may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of diesel/heavy equipment repair.
