United Mechanical Interns will have the chance to network with a diverse group of people within our engineering and project management teams, develop new skills, and learn about our business and industry during various training programs, lunch and learns, job-site and shop tours, and teambuilding activities.
2027 Internship Program: June – August (Dates can vary based on summer schedule)
Responsibilities
- Assists with HVAC and/or Plumbing system design
- Effectively manage time to meet project deliverables and schedules
- Perform and document field surveys of existing site conditions and equipment
- Complete code required energy compliance documents and LEED calculations/certifications
- Conduct engineering calculations; load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, acoustics, psychometric, controls, fixture loading, pressure loss, etc.
- Create engineering drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Provide interpretations of all external codes, regulations, and specifications
Qualifications
- In pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to take direction, ask questions, and meet deadlines
- Ability to interact effectively with others in team environments
- Strong organizational, time management, written, and oral communication skills
