POSITION SUMMARY

Provides overallsupport for accounting management, formulating internalcontrols and policies, preparing financial statements, managing journal entries, assisting in budgeting, and forecasting, and reviewing accounting information for accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides a broad range of administrative supportfunctions for management which include coordinating office communications, tracking budgets, purchasing, scheduling, and workflow
  • Prepare and analyzeaccurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews to identifytrends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide insightful analysisand recommendations to management based on financial data
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, generalledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Implement and maintaineffective internal controlsto safeguard companyassets
  • Conduct regular auditsto ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with externalaudits and providenecessary documentation and support
  • Evaluate and recommendenhancements to financial systems and processesto improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Streamline and automatefinancial processes where possible to increase productivity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure data integrity

Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
    • Understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company
    • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
    • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
    • Collaboration and teamwork skills
    • Initiative-taker that goes beyond what is required, completes assignments independently
    • Process oriented – good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow, simplifies complex processes
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance,or related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Strong analytical and critical thinkingskills
  • Effective communication and people skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, production, or servicesindustry strongly preferred

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in MicrosoftExcel and Accounting Software
  • Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
  • Proficient in Outlook& Email Communication
  • Proficient in the use of electronic devices

Compensation and Benefits

    • Base salary range: $35 to $42 an hour depending on experience
