Position Summary

The Pavement Marking Technician is responsible for applying and maintaining pavement markings on roads, parking lots, and construction projects according to project specifications and safety standards.

Position Requirements:

· Valid driver’s license

· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

· 1+ year of previous pavement marking experience preferred

Position Details

· Type: This is a Full-Time, hourly/non-exempt position that is entitled to overtime pay

· Hours: Varied working hours typically between Monday and Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with frequent night, weekend, and holiday work

· Overtime: Based on weather and workload

· Meal Breaks: Meal breaks of 30 minutes or longer may be taken and are unpaid

Reports To: Pavement Marking Supervisor

Essential Functions

· Apply pavement markings in accordance with DOT, MUTCD, and project specifications

· Operate pavement marking trucks and other equipment safely and efficiently

· Assist with layout, line spacing, and stencil placement prior to striping

· Load and unload materials, paint, glass beads, and equipment for daily operations

· Perform proper maintenance and repair of equipment required for long line pavement markings

· Set up and maintain traffic control for striping operations in compliance with company and DOT standards

Safety

· Complete all required safety training

· Attend all required safety meetings

· Adhere to and promote all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards and practices

· Report any incidents or unsafe work practices to the supervisor

· Comply with fleet and driver policy requirements as applicable

This job operates outside in varied outdoor elements, operating on roadway and construction work zones with exposure to noise, dust, and moving traffic.
